Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by the homeowners. They graciously detailed the plumbing concerns they were experiencing, prompting us to present viable solutions. After thoughtful consideration, they opted for our Mid Range Option.
We commenced by shutting down the water supply using the existing gate valve near the water meter in the basement. Once the home was drained, we meticulously removed all three emergency shut-off valves in the first-floor bathroom. While removing the toilet shut-off valve, we noticed that the toilet was alarmingly loose. We promptly shared our findings with the homeowners, who elected to have the toilet pulled and reset.
Upon removal, we discovered that the toilet flange had been improperly installed, with grout poured over it and bolts set in an incorrect position, hindering proper securing to the floor. We relayed this information to the homeowners and presented repair/replacement options. They chose to have the flange repaired, understanding that it would not be a permanent solution. Subsequently, we installed a repair toilet flange and set the bolts in the proper position. Reinstalling the existing toilet with a new emergency shut-off valve and customer-supplied bidet, we ensured everything was securely in place.
Furthermore, we installed new emergency shut-off valves for the lavatory, along with a new drain assembly. After securing all connections, we restored water flow to the home and conducted thorough testing, detecting no issues. Finally, we meticulously cleaned our work area and extended our gratitude to the homeowners for entrusting us with their plumbing service needs.
