Certified Service Plumber - Valid Plumbing License Required

Education Requirements

• Plumbing technical knowledge and expertise proficient for problem assessment, diagnosis and correction.
• Demonstrated proficiency in major areas of plumbing maintenance, repair and replacement, including fixtures, water heaters, softeners, disposals, etc. (for multiple manufacturers), leak repair, pipe breaks and temperature control for anti-scalding.
• Appreciation and knowledge of proper tools and equipment used in service and repair, including rodding equipment and camera.
• Specialized training by fixture or tool manufacturers, a plus.

Experience Requirements

• Must have a valid driver license.
• Working knowledge of the City of Chicago and the State of Illinois Plumbing Code. Possession of current city or state journeyman (or apprentice) plumbing license.
• Proper OSHA training, including OSHA 10, first aid, AED and other related safety training.
• Training as a certified renovator for work in homes that may be contain lead, a plus.

Qualifications

• All applicants are subject to a thorough back ground check (zero tolerance for criminal record), Department of Motor Vehicle record check (follow up checks every 6 months post hire) and an initial hair follicle drug test (random Screen Safe tests thereafter, per Drug Alliance Program).
• Location of primary residence must be within call area, generally within fifteen miles of shop.
• Must have residential service plumbing experience.
• A neat and clean appearance.
• A clear verbal communicator, able to speak in a manner that conveys a clear understanding of each situation to a homeowner.
• Must be able to write clearly and print legibly, as all service documentation is the responsibility of the technician. The majority of a service persons day is in communication with homeowners (verbal and written).
