Upon our arrival to carry out the scheduled work, we were welcomed by the homeowner. Our meticulous approach began with the utmost care for her surroundings, as we diligently shielded the work area and the pristine flooring, extending from the basement utility room to the front door.
The initial phase of our task involved the precise draining of the hot water system and the water heater. Subsequently, we expertly disconnected the water heater water lines, gas line, and exhaust venting, disposing of the old water heater in an environmentally responsible manner. The installation of the new, efficient 50-gallon water heater was executed with precision, including the reconfiguration of the hot and cold water lines. This included the integration of an expansion tank securely affixed to the water heater and calibrated to a precise 47 psi.
Our unwavering attention to detail continued as we reconfigured the gas line and exhaust vent, ensuring both safety and optimal performance. Once these critical components were in place, we carefully restored water to the water heater, purging air from the system at all fixtures, and efficiently reestablished the gas supply.
After setting the temperature to optimal levels, we conducted a comprehensive check to confirm that the water heater was functioning flawlessly. A thorough cleanup of the work area ensued, with all tools and debris promptly removed.
