Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the homeowner, who directed my attention to his primary shower and the right-side lavatory faucet in the same bathroom, both experiencing low flow issues. After assessing the situation, we presented him with several options, and he opted to proceed with option 2.
To address the low flow, we initiated a faucet diagnostic for both the shower valve and lavatory faucet. First, we shut off the water supply to the home and laid down a protective tarp in the shower area. Disassembling the trim for the shower valve and diverter, we carefully extracted both internal components. Upon inspecting the brass body of the faucet, we discovered a piece of debris obstructing the water entry point into the diverter chamber. After removing the debris and meticulously examining the remaining components, we documented the findings with detailed photos for potential future reference. Subsequently, we reinstalled the internal components and trim before restoring the water supply to the home and conducting thorough flow tests, ensuring optimal performance across all three settings within the shower.
Moving to the lavatory faucet, we identified a buildup of debris within the aerator. We promptly cleaned the aerator, reinstalled it, and conducted tests to confirm restored functionality and improved flow.
