Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the homeowner, who led us to the basement bathroom where he expressed a desire for a new Toto bidet toilet installation. Additionally, he mentioned his recent purchase of a new food waste disposal that he wished to have installed in the kitchen. With this information in mind, we conducted a visual inspection of both areas.
After deliberating on various options, we commenced work in the kitchen, laying down protective cloth's' to safeguard the workspace. We began by removing the old food waste disposal and drain assembly. Upon unboxing the new disposal, it became evident that its electrical requirements differed from the existing connections. Upon discussing this with the homeowner, we decided to upgrade to a new 1 hp food waste disposal. We proceeded to secure a new mounting flange, the upgraded disposal unit, an electrical cord for plug-and-play convenience, and a fresh drain assembly. Following installation, we conducted thorough testing which revealed no issues.
Moving to the basement, we removed the old toilet and disposed of it off-site. Subsequently, we unpacked the new toilet and secured new mounting hardware to the floor. However, we encountered a challenge as the water supply was situated too close to the toilet, necessitating relocation. To address this, we shut off the main emergency water valve for the home, drained the water supply piping, and accessed the necessary section of drywall. After relocating the water supply and securing a new emergency shut-off valve, we restored the water supply to the home and flushed out all fixtures to remove any air buildup. Following multiple tests ensuring proper operation, the homeowner opted to mount the remote control and bracket himself.
Upon completion, all work areas were meticulously cleaned, and debris was responsibly disposed of.
