Upon arrival, we met with the homeowner who directed us to the ejector pump, noticing it was running but not pumping. Upon inspection, we proposed several solutions to him, and he opted for economy option 1, which involved pulling and inspecting the pump, despite its relatively young age of 3 1/2 years. After receiving approval, we prepared the area with tarps and towels before removing the pump.
Upon examination, we discovered that debris had clogged the weep hole, causing the pump to airlock. We promptly cleared the debris and widened the weep hole to prevent future occurrences. Additionally, we ensured the check valve was clean and operational.
Before reinstalling the pump, we thoroughly cleaned the ejector pit lid surface and applied silicone to create a proper seal. After multiple tests, the system returned to normal functionality. We then tidied the work area, disposing of any debris.
