Pay Range: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors)
Position Summary
The Warehouse Assistant supports daily warehouse operations under the direction of the Warehouse Manager. Responsibilities include general warehouse functions, facility upkeep, inventory handling, and local deliveries or pickups. This role contributes to maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times
- Collaborate effectively with team members to support operational goals
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
- Understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
- Complete required documentation accurately and within established deadlines
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Warehouse & Facility Operations
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment as directed
- Label, organize, and stock inventory within the warehouse
- Pull and stage materials for scheduled jobs
- Assist with inventory counts for warehouse and service vehicles
- Maintain cleanliness of warehouse, grounds, and common areas (e.g., sweeping, waste disposal, restroom upkeep, snow removal, and basic yard work)
- Support recycling and proper disposal of materials
Transportation & Errands
- Operate company vehicles in a safe and lawful manner
- Transport materials, equipment, permits, and other items to and from job sites, suppliers, and local agencies
- Plan and follow efficient routes using maps or navigation tools
Equipment & Vehicle Support
- Assist with basic equipment upkeep and organization
- Perform light vehicle maintenance tasks, including completing inspection reports
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Prior warehouse or logistics experience preferred but not required
Skills & Abilities
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to meet established performance expectations
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company insurance requirements
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles
- Successful completion of background screening and, where permitted by law, pre-employment drug testing
- Ability to comply with company dress code and grooming standards
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials (specific weight requirements may be provided upon request)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
- Work may be performed in warehouse, outdoor, and varying weather conditions
