There are two classifications of pumps used in homes. Each one has a different purpose.
Ejector pumps remove sewer waste from areas that are not served by a gravity sewer. The
ejector pump is designed to move sewer water that contains human waste
Sump pumps are used to remove ground water.
Sump pumps can only move clear water that has no waste in it.
